Alternative Solutions to Combat Marine Biofilm Fouling

Ernest Teoh

Marine fouling poses significant operational and economic challenges, from reducing vessel efficiency to compromising underwater structures, yet traditional antifouling methods face growing regulatory and environmental constraints. Marine biofilms have been shown to affect drag on vessels, and act as a precursor for subsequent settlement of marine biofouling. This workshop aims to foster dialogue on emerging, sustainable antifouling technologies, and provide opportunities for academic and industry stakeholders to address shared challenges and explore collaboration opportunities.
